64/7/19 – Minutes of previous meeting – The minutes of the meetings of the 18th June 2019 were discussed, and the council resolved to sign them as being a true record of the meeting.

67/7/19 – Reports from: –
Cumbria County Council – Cllr Mike Johnson sent the following report:” I’m continuing to work with the highways engineers with the signage, bollards etc. at the A595 south junction, still awaiting a date for the site meeting for Matty Lonning, and have had a few emails from parishioners regarding car parking at school times blocking access to residential properties.
As soon as I have any further updates and progress, I will let you know”
Allerdale Borough Council – Cllr Hodgson updated the council on the position with waste collections and confirmed that Allerdale Borough Council still hoped to have the matter resolved following the two months suspension of garden waste and recycling collections, he could not go into any further detail as the matter was in the hands of the councils solicitors who were in discussions with the contractor about resolving the matter. He also stated that Allerdale Borough Council were subsidising 10 pence swimming sessions at Wigton baths on Mondays, and that they were offering another opportunity for householders to apply through the Big Switch initiative to change their energy supplier to a cheaper tariff, that opens on the 13th August.
68/7/19 – Allerdale waste collection – Following the recent changers to the waste collections all household bins are now being collected as normal however, the recycling and garden waste collections are causing problems for residents.
69/7/19 – Thursby roundabout to Woodhouse road passing places – The council resolved to pass this matter onto County Councillor Mike Johnson.
70/7/19 – Thursby green bus shelter and the condition of the old seat – Following discussion about the recent upgrade to the shelter the council resolved to ascertain exactly how badly damaged the seat is too see whether it is repairable, and not to replace the guttering following its damage by the service bus.
71/7/19 – Planted areas on the green – the council discussed the estimate for having all three planted areas on the green edged the same and resolved to have the work done by Tivoli Services.
72/7/19 – Beech trees on land at the entrance to yew Tree Lane – Following a complaint from a member of the public of obstruction by the trees the council resolved to defer this matter to the September meeting.
73/7/19 – Speed indicator device (SID) – The council resolved to have this matter deferred until the September meeting.
74/7/19 – Dogs on leads order – The legal process for creating a dog control order for Thursby village was discussed and the council resolved to pursue the mater no further at this time.
75/7/19 – Parish Council website – The council resolved to have this matter deferred until the September meeting.

The clerk outlined to the council an update on actions from the previous meetings and a report of his activities since the council last met in June.
77/7/19 – Progress reports for information reflecting the priorities of the Community Led Plan.
Health and Wellbeing – The sports and recreation committee have now completed the upgrade to the playing area and are planning to have a big picnic on the site as way of an official opening.
- Environment –
Jubilee field entrance hedge – the council resolved to defer this matter to the September meeting.
- Housing Issues – St Andrews View: – Properties occupied 64 including rented and discounted for sale Properties completed 69 Properties reserved and sold 69 including rented and discounted for sale
Affordable homes plan: 4 for sale – all occupied 13 for rent – 13 occupied

Thursby school –.
The School closes for summer 16 July and 17 – 19 July labourers and volunteers for whole school decamp for re-wiring, beginning September staff, labourers and volunteers putting all equipment back in school.
Building work currently 1.5 weeks behind because of lack of urgency with the Gas Company. Four large storage containers and large skip arriving week commencing 8th September to store all school equipment. Entry/exit, a new path has been approved from the new main entrance round to nursery/reception back door to allow for separate entry/exit for younger children. New security door system using key fobs to be introduced September which will ensure a higher level of safety.
78/7/19 – Planning applications: –

HOU/2019/0141 – Skiddaw View, Mooreend, Thursby – Two storey extension. No council objections

The council resolved to approve the financial statement as at 30th June 2019 and signed the accounts and accompanying bank statement.
